Monique "Moe" Moss' first foray into the wellness industry was at the age of 15 in her native Brooklyn, New York.  A family member complained of back trouble and she instinctively "rolled up her sleeves" and started massaging.  Flash forward, 20 years later and now living in Columbia, SC, her passion for making others feel better prompted her to attend massage school and become a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2008.  After working in several local spas, she became interested in Nail Technology and enrolled at the Nail Clinic School of Manicuring in 2010.

During a chat in a nail tech discussion board, she learned about MediNails Learning Center and their Advanced Nail Technician and Medical Nail Technician Certification programs. These were designed by Dr. Robert Spalding, DPM and Janet McCormick to teach nail technicians how to work in an aseptic environment utilizing sanitary protocols for servicing diabetic/mature/immune suppressed clients and how to develop referrals with podiatrists. This excited and encouraged Moe to want to do more than just be seen as "nail tech". Due to the horror stories heard/seen regarding non-standard nail techs/salons, she saw the need was there to ensure those seeking services could receive them without fear of losing a limb because the tech/salon did not properly sanitize and disinfect between each service. To read more on the ANT program and its curriculum, click on the logo.

Moe credits the Advanced Nail Technician program with enabling her to participate each year in the GF3 (Good Food, Good Feet, Good Friday) event and serve the city's transient and homeless community with foot washes and ancillary foot care. You can read more about it here.

12/7/2017 Educational Update: We have completed the Medical Nail Technician Certification program thru MediNails Learning Center. This process included a 40 hour internship with a local podiatrist for hands on experience working in a podiatric setting. Our latest certification allows us to assist podiatrists with their routine foot care services in their medical offices!
